Enterprise suite

Also called: AI suite

An enterprise suite — Microsoft 365 Copilot, Google Workspace with Gemini, Salesforce's AI layer — isn't really one workplace; it's a wrapper containing several.

An enterprise suite — Microsoft 365 Copilot, Google Workspace with Gemini, Salesforce’s AI layer — isn’t really one workplace; it’s a wrapper containing several. Copilot alone is a chat, a family of in-context assistants, an agent-building tool, and a workflow layer, all wearing one name inside your organization’s governance. What the wrapper genuinely adds: reach into the company’s data graph, compliance and audit, and integration across the vendor’s apps. What it costs: it lags the frontier models, and it can’t see past the vendor’s ecosystem.

Why it matters: Most underwhelming suite rollouts share one cause — everyone got trained on the chat mode, the weakest room in the building, while the in-context modes that actually fit their daily work sat unused inside the same license. The fix in the rollouts that recovered wasn’t budget or a better model; it was naming what’s inside the wrapper and routing the right work to the right room. The working rule: the suite for anything that needs the data graph or the compliance; your own AI for the thinking and learning that doesn’t.
